Drone or Scaffolding? A Practical Comparison

When aerial inspection replaces access equipment and when it cannot.

Scaffolding exists because people need to work at height, not just look. If the task is inspection, a drone often covers the same ground in minutes without traffic control, permits or fall-risk exposure.

If the task is repair, testing or hands-on assessment, access equipment or rope access remains necessary. The efficient sequence is usually: aerial review first to locate and target, then access equipment only where work is confirmed.

That sequence saves money on small defects and focuses access costs where they are unavoidable.
